Every song begins with the information you provide. I personally write the lyrics, working to incorporate as many meaningful details as possible so the finished song doesn't sound generic—it tells your story.

Perhaps you want to remember a husband or wife who has passed away. Maybe you want to honor a parent or grandparent, encourage someone facing an illness, celebrate a wedding or anniversary, thank a lifelong friend, or create something unforgettable for someone you love.

Whatever the occasion, the goal is the same:

To create a song that could only have been written for that person.

You can also tell me what kind of music best represents the person or the feeling you want the song to convey.

Your song can be created in styles such as Country, Gospel, Worship, Hymn, Pop, Rock, R&B/Soul, Folk & Americana, Classical, Adult Contemporary, and many others.

Tell me whether you want it joyful, inspirational, reflective, romantic, comforting, uplifting or deeply emotional. Together, the story and musical style help make the finished song uniquely yours.

Personalized songs are offered by a number of services, and some charge $100, $200, or more for a single custom song. Before you decide, it's worth knowing what that price actually includes — and what it doesn't.

Most personalized-song services deliver only a digital audio file. They typically do not include a physical, personalized CD — no custom disc featuring your song, no artwork created from the photograph you provide, and nothing you can hold in your hands or pass along as a keepsake that lasts.

And none of them let you fill out your CD with music from a studio catalog of more than 200 original Skybrook Studios songs, so your personalized song can sit alongside up to 70 minutes of other songs that matter to the person receiving it.

For one price — $79 — you receive your personally written song, a personalized CD with custom artwork featuring your song and your selected companion songs, a high-quality MP3, a 30-second shareable song preview perfect for sending to family and friends, an MP4 video with the lyrics scrolling in time as the song plays, and the option to add companion songs from a catalog of more than 200 Skybrook Studios recordings. Everything is included; nothing is held back for a higher tier.

Don't worry about making your story sound polished. Simply tell me about the person in your own words. Include names, memories, relationships, important dates or places, favorite sayings, personality traits, special moments… and anything else you'd love to hear reflected in the song.

If you have a preferred musical style, tell me that too. You can also attach the photograph you'd like used on your personalized CD, and suggest a title—or, if you're unsure about the title, I can help you develop one after reading the story.
